About The Position

We are seeking a passionate Lead Direct Care Supervisor to join our adolescent residential academy program in Yanceyville, North Carolina. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a supportive, family-like rural setting with smaller student body sizes, contributing to the positive transformation of at-risk teens. The program provides a comprehensive rehabilitative experience, combining evidence-based practices with a strong family transition component. Intensive, short-term services include individualized treatment and academic plans, experiential education, community service, behavioral health, and family counseling in a non-punitive, strength-based environment. Youth receive accredited education on-site and work in small group settings with assigned counselors.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a social or human service field OR coursework in a social or human service field with at least 4 years’ experience working with youth.
  • Experience with an at-risk youth population.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to travel about property, through wilderness terrain.
  • Must be able to pass evaluation of crisis intervention/physical restraint techniques and written certification exam, and use approved techniques as needed.
  • Must be able to participate in aquatic activities.
  • Ability to transport clients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Supervision and training of Direct Care Supervisors to ensure balanced therapeutic and educational programming.
  • Awareness of the entire program operation and readiness to assume any duties necessary for successful operation of groups, direct care supervision, and program.
  • Collaboration with JJ Case Managers to ensure all in-house screenings and assessments for individual service plans are scheduled during the intake phase.
  • Oversee placement of youth in specific groups.
  • Participate and evaluate all re-assessments of youth with the Service Team when youth are not responding to completion of service plan goals.
