About The Position

Located in Tucson AZ, our Brief Intervention Program (BIP) is a short-term residential facility that provides enhanced residential services to male and female adolescents ages 12-17. Individuals stay up to 30 days in our structured treatment setting which includes 24-hour supervision and therapeutic services. This program is designed for adolescents who are in crisis, requiring active treatment in an environment with a high degree of oversight, intensive programming, and treatment. The BIP features living facilities, education/schooling, food services, medical/nursing, and therapy services. Lead Direct Care Professionals (Lead DCP) are responsible for the health and safety of program individuals, as well as assisting Program Managers with the supervising, planning, and implementation of day-to-day program activities. Direct support duties: helping individuals with their mental health, managing behaviors and emotional needs, de-escalating crisis situations, treatment plan implementation, personal care (bathing, dressing), medication management, transport, fostering social skills, and supporting direct care staff. Other duties include being an active member of the treatment team, assisting with managing behaviors in accordance with the individualized treatment plans, and facilitating programming that promotes treatment goals and developmental skills. Lead DCP's serve as a role model, mentor, leader, and trainer to Direct Care Professionals. Lead staff also assist with the planning and implementation of enrichment activities such as art projects, music groups, various athletics (basketball, soccer, swimming), and adult-transition prep!

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One (1) year of work experience in behavioral health service delivery or six (6) months Devereux experience (internal staff).
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License is required.
  • Must be able to pass 36-month DMV check.
  • Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable).
  • Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results.
  • Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities
