About The Position

The Lead Diesel Mechanic supervises and oversees maintenance and repair work on trucks and trailers. The role guides mechanics in diagnosing failures and applying correct repair practices, performs trailer inspections and repairs, and uses specialized equipment for maintenance work. It also involves documenting and tracking maintenance activities and reporting on vehicle and equipment status.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have a high school diploma or GED.
• Be authorized to work in the United States.
• Provide and maintain personal maintenance tools.
• Be able to read, write, communicate, and comprehend English to perform job tasks, understand instructions and regulations, communicate with others, and complete required documents, reports, and records.

Nice To Haves

• Six years of diesel mechanic experience.
• Proficiency in diagnostic software.

Responsibilities

• Supervise cross-functional partners performing mechanical work on trucks and trailers.
• Instruct mechanics on diagnosing failures and following correct repair practices.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair activities.
• Perform inspections, services, and repairs on trailers.
• Use specialized equipment to perform inspections, repairs, and maintenance work.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues on trailers and dollies.
• Track and maintain service information for mechanic-related activities.
• Prepare reports on maintenance activities and vehicle and equipment status.
