This role is within the Ultrasound department at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital. The Lead Diagnostic Sonographer will coordinate with the Supervisor and/or Manager of Radiology to ensure adequate resources for timely and high-quality exams that meet department standards. This position may involve assigning personnel and adjusting assignments based on exam volume. The role serves as a key pivotal direct clinical support to management.

Relevant Work Experience
3 years of experience
Graduate of an approved discipline specific program

Responsibilities

Functions as a shift lead or key pivotal direct clinical support role for all levels of the Diagnostic Sonographers.
Reviews radiology exam requests and patient identification to ensure safe, appropriate and cost effective imaging.
Applies broad range of skills to ensure advanced exams are completed timely and meets quality and compliance standards.
Coordinates with the Supervisor Radiology and Manager Radiology to ensure adequate staffing model is maintained for shift.
Assists in the orientation and training of new staff.
