About The Position

The Lead DevOps Engineer is the highest senior technical role within Lennar’s DevOps team. The position strategizes, designs, and implements advanced DevOps solutions to improve the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of systems. It leads and mentors DevOps Engineers and collaborates across departments to enhance CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices, while shaping DevOps culture and best practices across the organization. The role designs, implements, and optimizes AWS cloud environments; automates infrastructure provisioning; architects secure software delivery pipelines; and leads cloud security, observability, incident management, and disaster recovery efforts. It serves as an advisor and collaborator to development, security, operations, and business teams, drives DevOps roadmaps and continuous improvement, and advances AWS cost optimization through FinOps strategies.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
At least 7 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD automation.
Expert-level knowledge of AWS services, including IAM, EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, VPC, and Route 53.
Strong proficiency in Terraform, Ansible, and HashiCorp Vault.
Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
Solid background in containerization and Kubernetes, including EKS, Docker, and Helm.
Expertise in observability and monitoring tools, including AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack.
Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and optimize AWS cloud environments for scalability, security, and high availability.
Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Terraform and Ansible.
Implement secrets management and access control using HashiCorp Vault.
Use Packer to create and maintain consistent, reusable cloud images.
Architect and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for efficient and secure deployments.
Enforce infrastructure-as-code and GitOps best practices.
Optimize software release cycles using progressive delivery techniques such as blue-green deployments, feature flags, and canary releases.
Lead cloud security initiatives and enforce compliance and risk-mitigation practices.
Implement observability solutions using AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack.
Establish incident management and disaster recovery strategies to minimize downtime.
Provide expertise and guidance on securing cloud-native application development and delivery platforms, including DevSecOps tooling such as SAST, SCA, and DAST.
Advise development, security, and operations teams, aligning DevOps strategies with business needs.
Mentor and develop junior DevOps engineers and foster knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
Work with engineering leadership and product management on DevOps roadmaps and technical decisions.
Lead cross-functional collaboration and embed DevOps best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
Promote communication among Security Engineering & Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, and other departments or business units.
Assist with acquisition, risk assessment, procurement, and evaluation of vendor and product selections.
Evaluate and introduce emerging DevOps technologies to improve efficiency, security, and scalability.
Drive AWS cost optimization initiatives through FinOps strategies.
Research and evaluate DevOps tools and technologies to improve workflow efficiency.
