The role is part of Finance and Audit Technology within GFT, focusing on maintaining critical ASP.NET Web Forms applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 7+ years of professional full-stack software development experience
  • Strong proficiency with .NET
  • Strong proficiency with SQL Server
  • Hands-on experience CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or equivalent)
  • Hands-on experience using Generative AI tools and products to enhance code delivery
  • Strong product mindset — ability to prioritize ruthlessly, deliver iteratively, and ship production features on tight timelines in an agile environment
  • Experience building enterprise-scale applications with 50+ concurrent users, with attention to scalability, reliability, and security
  • Excellent communication skills — technical writing, architecture documentation, and stakeholder presentations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with large datasets – query tuning, pagination strategies, batching, and efficient data retrieval patterns
  • Background in financial derivatives or capital markets (options, futures, swaps, valuations, risk)
  • Familiarity with Tableau or other reporting tools
  • Experience with IIS configuration and deployment of Web Forms applications

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot a production ASP.NET Web Forms application built on the .NET Framework
  • Develop and consume SOAP-based web services for integration with internal systems
  • Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL Server stored procedures, views, and functions to support application data needs.
  • Work with ADO.NET for direct database access, including data readers, datasets, and connection management
  • Develop and maintain front-end interactions using jQuery and standard Web Forms controls
  • Diagnose and resolve performance issues across the application stack – from database queries to page rendering
  • Actively use GitHub Copilot and other generative AI tools to Accelerate code generation, Understand and document complex or undocumented legacy code, Analyze problems, explore solutions, and streamline day-to-day development activities, Generate and improve unit tests for existing and new code
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to documentation of system behaviour and business logic
  • Support production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes with minimal disruption
  • Identify opportunities for incremental modernization while preserving system stability
