About The Position

At ST Engineering MRAS, we design and build Nacelles for commercial aircraft applications. Our products help make it possible for millions of people to fly quickly and safely all around the world. In this role, you will lead design efforts within your assigned program. ST Engineering MRAS is a pioneer in the production and assembly of complex aerostructures including aircraft and rocket components, engine nacelle systems, thrust reversers and advanced composite products, we apply the latest digital technologies and automation in composite design and manufacturing that are second to none. At ST Engineering MRAS, we are also rapidly augmenting our maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) capabilities leveraging the company’s expanded aircraft nacelle portfolio as well as it’s materials and processing expertise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 3 years of experience in an Engineering position related to mechanical systems and/ or design engineering.
  • This position involves access to export-controlled technology which requires U.S. Person status or government authorization. A ‘U.S. Person,’ as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62, includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, individuals lawfully admitted for permanent residence (green card holders), and individuals granted asylum or refugee status in the United States. To be considered for this position, you must either be a U.S. Person or fall within a legally recognized export control exception or authorization. If hired, you will be required to provide valid proof of such status.

Nice To Haves

  • Highly skilled in CATIA V5, CATIA V4
  • Experience with PLM system, Enovia preferred
  • Experience with composite design software, Fibersim and/or CPD preferred
  • Experience with Design of Aircraft Electrical Wiring and Interconnecting Systems (EWIS)
  • Experience with design and routing of hydraulic and pneumatic systems

Responsibilities

  • Design and document Nacelle and components and assemblies, including thrust reversers, inlets, fan cowls, and EBU systems.
  • Coordinate with other functions to meet business standards, practices, and procedures as well as product/program requirements.
  • Execute product processes related to design, analysis, test, materials, manufacture, quality and/or productivity.
  • Perform Root Cause and Corrective Action investigations on events occurring in fleet of fielded hardware.
  • Initiate and execute engineering changes to support cost out, weight out, and producibility projects.
  • Effectively communicate with the engineering program manager to prepare for technical and program reviews within the organization, develop and execute plans to achieve technical and program requirements, and develop action plans in response to problems.
  • Participate in technical reviews and adhere to design practices and standards.
  • Create engineering change packages, including part definition and change substantiation.
  • Provide technical inputs to cost out projects and associated reviews.
