About The Position

Lead legacy modernization and support critical mainframe database environments. As a Lead Database Administrator - Supra, you will lead the legacy modernization team, focusing on the management and optimization of Supra databases within IBM mainframe environments. This is a hybrid role requiring four days per week in the Toronto office, working closely with application and infrastructure teams to ensure performance, stability, and scalability.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Database Administration
• Strong expertise in Supra, IBM z/OS, COBOL, JCL, and CICS
• Experience supporting legacy systems and modernization initiatives
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
• Ability to manage priorities and deliver in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

• Experience leading or mentoring DBA teams
• Exposure to modernization or migration programs
• Familiarity with financial services environments
• Knowledge of automation or scripting within mainframe environments
• Relevant certifications in database or mainframe technologies

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Supra databases on IBM mainframe systems
• Monitor and optimize database performance, including capacity planning
• Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
• Oversee database security, access controls, and compliance requirements
• Provide technical support and guidance to application teams using Supra
