About The Position

The Lead Data Scientist will lead advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and predictive modeling initiatives supporting Navy readiness modernization. The role develops predictive and prescriptive analytical solutions for supply chain optimization, weapon system sustainment, inventory positioning, and operational readiness. It oversees machine learning models, simulations, forecasting capabilities, and optimization algorithms, and leads analytical activities that support senior leader decision-making.

The position establishes analytical methodologies, validation procedures, and model governance frameworks; translates operational requirements into actionable analytical solutions and recommendations; and mentors Data Scientists and Data Analysts while guiding technical execution across workstreams. The Lead Data Scientist collaborates with Government stakeholders to identify readiness risks, logistics constraints, and operational opportunities, and supports enterprise reporting, executive decision-making, and campaign plan initiatives.

Requirements

• Active and maintained Top Secret Federal or DoD security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Seven or more years of relevant experience in data science, advanced analytics, machine learning, or applied statistics.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced degree in Data Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience supporting Navy, DoD, or defense logistics programs.
• Experience with Databricks, Palantir Foundry, Qlik, MSS, or NDP.
• Experience with AI governance and Responsible AI implementation.
• Knowledge of readiness reporting and operational sustainment analytics.
• Expert-level experience with Python, SQL, and statistical modeling techniques.
• Experience building predictive, diagnostic, and prescriptive analytics solutions.
• Experience working with large-scale operational, logistics, maintenance, or supply chain datasets.
• Experience leading technical teams and complex analytical initiatives.
• Experience presenting analytical findings to executive leadership.
