Lead Data Scientist / Data Architect
About The Position
Essnova Solutions is seeking experienced Data Scientists and Data Architects to support a large-scale federal data and technology modernization initiative supporting the U.S. Census Bureau. We are seeking senior professionals who can help modernize complex data environments, develop advanced analytics and AI/ML capabilities, and design scalable enterprise data platforms. Opportunities are available for both Lead Data Scientists and Senior Data Architects, depending on experience and technical specialization. This position supports the U.S. Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland under a hybrid work model. Candidates must be located in the DC/MD/VA area or be willing to commute to Suitland.
Requirements
- PhD (for Lead Data Scientist role)
- 15+ years of relevant experience (for Lead Data Scientist role)
- Senior/SME-level data science experience (for Lead Data Scientist role)
- Advanced experience with Machine Learning (for Lead Data Scientist role)
- Advanced experience with Deep Learning (for Lead Data Scientist role)
- Advanced experience with Advanced data analytics (for Lead Data Scientist role)
- 10–14 years of relevant experience (for Senior Data Architect role)
- Senior-level enterprise data architecture experience (for Senior Data Architect role)
- Experience designing and supporting complex enterprise data environments (for Senior Data Architect role)

Responsibilities
- Design and support modern enterprise data and analytics solutions.
- Work with large, complex datasets in enterprise environments.
- Support modernization of data platforms and architectures.
- Develop scalable approaches to data integration, analytics, and management.
- Collaborate with cloud, engineering, application, architecture, and program teams.
- Support advanced analytics and AI/ML initiatives.
- Develop technical documentation, architecture designs, analytical models, and recommendations.
- Support development of scalable data platforms and advanced analytical capabilities.
