This role involves acting as an individual contributor in a technical capacity, assisting in designing solutions for complex computer applications and initiatives. It requires applying a thorough understanding of available technologies, tools, and existing design frameworks to engineering tasks. The position addresses complex problems that necessitate evaluating intangible variance factors through data and situational analysis, and leading multiple complex modeling and analysis efforts across various business domains. The Lead Data Engineer will serve as an expert technical resource to data engineering staff during design, testing, and implementation phases, and contribute as a key participant in large-scale software planning initiatives within the Technology organization. The role focuses on designing data services that support Strategic Enterprise Risk Management and building high-performing, scalable data pipeline platforms using Hadoop, Ab Initio, EXADATA, and cloud-based solutions. Responsibilities include performing data analysis and modeling within a data warehouse environment for business intelligence and reporting, executing SQL queries for data analysis and troubleshooting, identifying data and application issues, and collaborating with leadership to design effective solutions. The position requires making informed decisions in multi-faceted data engineering scenarios with a deep understanding of technology, data structures, and relationships, and strategically collaborating with internal partners to resolve high-risk data engineering challenges. Maintaining and managing data architecture for multiple applications using established software architecture design principles, performing scoping activities, gathering technical and business requirements, and leading design efforts are also key aspects. Creating data models and designing data structures for seamless integration across applications and platforms, and participating in researching and resolving production issues to ensure system stability and data integrity are expected. The role engages throughout the entire project lifecycle, from requirements gathering to production implementation, with a strong focus on technical requirements and database design.
