About The Position
The Lead, Data & Analytics supports VB Spine’s Data & Analytics modernization roadmap by delivering reporting, data integration, and analytics improvements. The role develops and maintains dashboards, reports, data models, and analytics solutions using Power BI, SQL, Databricks, Python, and related technologies, while streamlining legacy reporting and improving self-service analytics. This position partners with stakeholders across business functions to translate requirements into useful reporting and insights, standardize KPIs and business logic, and support data-driven decision-making. It also helps ensure analytics solutions meet governance, security, compliance, data quality, and reporting standards. As a technical resource and project coordinator, the role collaborates with analysts, engineers, IT teams, and business partners to plan, test, implement, troubleshoot, and continuously improve analytics solutions and delivery processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, data platforms, or a related discipline.
- Hands-on experience developing dashboards, reports, datasets, and analytical solutions using modern business intelligence tools.
- Experience with Power BI, SQL, data modeling, and data visualization techniques.
- Working knowledge of Databricks, Python, cloud-based data integration tools, or similar technologies.
- Experience supporting analytics projects, gathering business requirements, and delivering reporting solutions.
- Understanding of data governance, data quality, reporting standardization, KPI definitions, and analytics development processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot reporting issues and identify practical solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical audiences.
Nice To Haves
- Certifications in Power BI, Databricks, Azure, data engineering, data governance, or related disciplines.
- Experience with ERP, MES, manufacturing, inventory, supply chain, finance, commercial, or operational data.
- Experience working in a regulated environment.
- Medical device, life sciences, manufacturing, or healthcare experience.
Responsibilities
- Support VB Spine’s Data & Analytics modernization roadmap through reporting, data integration, and analytics improvement initiatives.
- Rationalize legacy reports, dashboards, and datasets and automate manual reporting processes with scalable solutions.
- Develop and improve data models, reporting standards, and self-service analytics capabilities in alignment with enterprise standards.
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, data models, and analytics solutions using Power BI, SQL, Databricks, Python, and related technologies.
- Translate business requirements into reporting solutions and standardize KPIs, business logic, and reporting definitions.
- Troubleshoot data and reporting issues, support SDLC processes, and help transition to automated and self-service analytics.
- Ensure analytics solutions follow governance, security, compliance, and reporting standards, including requirements for KPI definitions, data models, documentation, and access controls.
- Collaborate with Master Data Management, Enterprise Applications, Cybersecurity, IT Compliance, and business stakeholders to address data quality issues and maintain reporting controls.
- Improve data accuracy, reporting consistency, analytics documentation, and delivery processes.
- Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting support, and best-practice knowledge sharing for analytics and business intelligence projects.
- Coordinate project activities with data analysts, data engineers, and IT teams to deliver solutions on time and in line with business priorities.
- Support project planning, testing, and implementation, and identify opportunities to improve analytics processes, reporting efficiency, and solution quality.
- Partner with stakeholders across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Sales, Quality, and other functions to deliver actionable dashboards, reports, and insights.
- Train and support business users, provide documentation, and promote self-service analytics and data-driven decision-making.
- Refine KPI definitions, gather user feedback, and recommend enhancements to analytics solutions.
