About The Position

G2 is looking for a Lead Data Analyst to provide descriptive and diagnostic analysis to inform product decision-making, evaluate performance, and make tactical recommendations. This role involves supporting and guiding project-based work using analytic tools to produce datasets for analysis, and utilizing BI tools to empower end users with timely, accurate, and informative data and visualizations. The Lead Data Analyst will design dashboards to monitor KPIs and business drivers, ensuring metric consistency with business strategy. They will also discuss questions and hypotheses with external and internal customers, acting as the G2 Data SME to translate them into analysis and insights. Additionally, this role will lead team discussions, collaborate with technical and non-technical team members to solve business problems, and provide guidance and coaching to junior team members. The Lead Data Analyst will also identify opportunities to improve reporting and other data management tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent degree acceptable) in Data Analytics or a related field plus four (4) years of experience in data analysis role.
  • Four (4) years of experience in designing dashboards and enabling self-serve analytics through Business Intelligence tools.
  • Four (4) years of experience in relational database modeling or experience in building reporting layers within Business Intelligence tooling.
  • Four (4) years of experience in Postgres and SQL databases.
  • Four (4) years of experience in performing QA on complex SQL queries for bugs, optimization and performance.
  • Four (4) years of experience in statistical programming with R or Python for the purposes of solving business Questions.
  • Four (4) years of experience in A/B testing and product analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Provide descriptive and diagnostic analysis to inform product decision-making, evaluate performance and make tactical recommendations.
  • Support and guide project-based work using analytic tools to produce datasets for analysis.
  • Use BI tools to empower end users with timely, accurate and informative data and visualizations.
  • Design dashboards to monitor KPIs and business drivers and ensure all metrics are consistent with business strategy.
  • Discuss questions and hypotheses with external and internal customers based on deep data analysis, and act as the G2 Data SME, turn them into analysis and insights.
  • Lead team discussions and collaborates with technical and non-technical team members to solve business problems.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to jr. team members, helping them understand complex datasets/models/business requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve our reporting and additional data management tasks you discover in your analysis.
