About The Position

Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is seeking a Lead Data Analyst for the User Experience Analytics team. The team studies how users navigate and engage with Disney’s streaming products and evaluates whether product feature changes achieve their intended results. The work is primarily experimentation and analysis, including defining metrics, designing measurement approaches, running experiments, analyzing results, and making clear recommendations. Findings inform decisions across the product organization, and high-priority work is presented to product management stakeholders as well as VP and SVP audiences. The Lead Analyst owns the team’s most complex work end-to-end, from framing the question and approach through analysis and recommendation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 7+ years in data analytics, with a track record of work that influenced decisions.
  • Deep experimentation experience, including test design, power analysis, metric selection, and correctly interpreting results, including local versus global metrics.
  • Strong metric development skills, including defining what to measure, why to measure it, and potential failure modes before data collection begins.
  • Advanced SQL for behavioral data at scale, including pathing, funnels, and cohort analysis.
  • Proficiency in Python for scripting, text manipulation, and analytical tasks that SQL cannot handle; SQL is the primary analysis tool.
  • Experience building visual dashboards using Looker (LookML); familiarity with Tableau.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including experience delivering insights to stakeholders at all levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in streaming or subscription products.
  • Causal inference methods beyond standard A/B testing, such as difference-in-differences or synthetic control.
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field.

Responsibilities

  • Own experiment analysis end-to-end, leading A/B tests on navigation, discovery, and feature surfaces from metric selection and test design through power analysis and final recommendation.
  • Develop and own metrics, defining success for product surfaces before experiments run and building frameworks for alignment with the team and stakeholders.
  • Conduct behavioral analysis to understand how users find, engage with, and return to content.
  • Present findings to product managers and prepare readouts for VP and SVP audiences on high-priority projects.
  • Build and maintain dashboards for continuous monitoring of key product surfaces.

Benefits

  • Financial benefits
