The Lead Cybersecurity Test Engineer performs system integration, verification, and validation of automotive cybersecurity features across next-generation vehicle controllers and software platforms, including High-Performance Computers (HPCs) and Zonal ECUs. The role focuses on validating cybersecurity software across multiple ECU domains using hardware-based system benches and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments. Work includes flashing and configuring ECU software, executing cybersecurity scenarios, validating ECU interactions, and identifying security weaknesses through requirements-based testing and system-level analysis. The engineer validates embedded cybersecurity mechanisms such as secure boot and software updates, ECU identity and authentication, key management and negotiation, Hardware Security Module (HSM) functionality, diagnostic security events, cybersecurity lifecycle mechanisms, inventory management, and protection of critical vehicle data. The role includes developing test strategies and detailed test cases, creating automation scripts in CAPL and Python, analyzing results, debugging failures, and supporting automated execution and CI integration. The engineer collaborates with software architecture, embedded software development, system integration, functional domain, and cybersecurity teams throughout development and validation. The position requires hands-on experience with automotive debugging and test automation tools, including Lauterbach Debugger, Vector CANoe/CAPL, Vector VT System, and dSPACE HIL platforms, and supports validation from early software development through system-level testing.
