Lead Cybersecurity Test Engineer

Stellantis•Auburn Hills, MI

About The Position

The Lead Cybersecurity Test Engineer will contribute to system integration, verification, and validation for next-generation vehicle controllers and software platforms. The role focuses on integrating and validating automotive cybersecurity software features across multidomain High-Performance Computer (HPC) and Zonal ECU platforms, using physical system benches and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments. The engineer will flash and configure ECU software, execute cybersecurity test scenarios, validate ECU interactions, and identify potential security weaknesses through requirements-based testing and system-level analysis. Areas of validation include secure boot and software updates, ECU identity and authentication, key management and negotiation, HSM functionality, diagnostic security events, cybersecurity lifecycle mechanisms, inventory management, and protection of critical vehicle data. The role involves developing test strategies, detailed test cases, and automation scripts; analyzing results and debugging failures; supporting continuous integration and automated test execution; and collaborating with cybersecurity, architecture, embedded software, system integration, and functional domain teams. The engineer will work from early software development through system validation to help ensure end-to-end cybersecurity functionality across interconnected vehicle controllers.
