The Lead Custodian is responsible for assisting with the supervision, delegation, and oversight of custodial staff to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout Laguna Development Corporation (LDC) casinos and related facilities. This role supports daily custodial operations by coordinating work assignments, training employees on proper cleaning techniques, maintaining cleaning equipment, and enforcing departmental procedures and safety standards. Duties include performing and overseeing a wide range of cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, scrubbing, trash removal, restroom sanitation, cleaning gaming tables and slot machines, and maintaining windows, carpets, walls, doors, and furnishings. The Lead Custodian also participates in meetings and training programs, including the annual Supervisory Development Leadership Series (SDLS), while maintaining a strong commitment to teamwork, operational efficiency, and exceptional service standards. Successful candidates are expected to model LDC’s core values by maintaining professionalism, reliability, and positive working relationships with guests, coworkers, vendors, and the public. The position requires the ability to work under pressure, maintain regular attendance, and work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and unusual hours. The role involves significant physical demands, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and carrying materials throughout the workday, as well as strong problem-solving, organizational, reading, and decision-making skills. Work is performed indoors with exposure to loud noise and fumes, and candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license through the Pueblo of Laguna Gaming Control Board and pass a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening.
