About The Position

DM Burr is a growing building maintenance provider serving the Midwest, with over 1,000 team members. This full-time Lead Custodian position is for the 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, at Beaverton Schools in Beaverton, MI. The role involves using approved methods and materials for cleaning and caring for the assigned facility, operating and maintaining various cleaning equipment, and performing general cleaning and light maintenance duties. The company offers a $200 new hire bonus after 90 days, daily pay service, and consistent work schedules.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED or technical school certification
• Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• 0-6 months custodial/ janitorial experience using floor scrubbers, buffers, stripping machines.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Requires the ability to read and follow label instructions on cleaning supplies
• Ability to follow basic verbal & written instructions.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail.
• Must have team aptitude and approach.

Responsibilities

• Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for assigned facility.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as; auto floor scrubbers, burnishing buffers, stripping machines and vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• General cleaning furniture, window sills, and walls.
• Dust, wash walls, clean ceilings, and polish light fixtures.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment.
• Clean/stock all restroom, janitorial closet and break rooms.
• Record and document all cleaning functions on appropriate logs and report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance duties as needed.
• Report any major safety item for repair.
• Snow removal on sidewalks
• Work order completion
• Filter changes
• Exterior cleanup
• Other duties as assigned.
