About The Position

We are seeking a reliable, self-motivated Lead Custodian / Maintenance Helper to join our Facilities team and help keep our building in pristine condition. In this role, you will perform a variety of daily cleaning and routine maintenance tasks while ensuring the facility remains safe and welcoming. Because this is a leadership role, you will also be responsible for directing, supporting, training, and mentoring other custodial staff members. You will work closely with the Facilities Manager to establish efficient cleaning schedules and sometimes collaborate with external contract cleaning services to get the job done right.

Requirements

Solid foundation in cleaning practices.
Ability to perform basic maintenance repairs without constant supervision.
Basic math skills.
Excellent time management.
Comfortable working on your feet for an 8-hour shift.
Comfortable working in an environment that includes production area noise and cleaning solvents.
Able to regularly lift up to 30 pounds on your own.
Able to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally with proper assistance.
Ability to work well independently.
Ability to confidently guide a team.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of daily cleaning and routine maintenance tasks.
Ensure the facility remains safe and welcoming.

Collaborate with external contract cleaning services.
Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
Clean and stock restrooms.
Manage trash collection and disposal.
Keep a close eye on inventory to ensure cleaning supplies remain well-stocked.
Prioritize safety when handling standard cleaning products and equipment.
Tackle minor building repairs.
Safely clean up spills.
Lock up the building securely after hours.
Notify managers of major repair needs.
