About The Position

The Lead Cook for The Ship Rock Grille at Red Rocks Amphitheatre assists the Chefs and Culinary Supervisors with supervising kitchen staff to ensure that meal and food items are prepared in accordance with production plans. In this role, you will train workers in methods of performing duties, as well as assign and coordinate work to promote the efficiency of operations. This person is also responsible for the sanitation of the Restaurant and maintaining personal safety, by conforming to all standards and regulations. Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs. This employee will have the ability to work holidays, nights and/or weekends (as needed).

Requirements

  • Must be over 18 years of age
  • Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one (1) year of food prep or related work preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Perform daily line check and sanitation logs
  • The ability to work all stations on the kitchen line
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • Coordinate with the kitchen supervisors and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Adhere to the uniform policy
  • Connect with the Supervisors daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Supervise the food temperature requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment; duties include sweeping, moping, ware washing
  • Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
