About The Position

Tigg's Canteen Services is seeking a dependable, motivated, and hardworking Full-Time Lead Cook to join our team at Ionia County Jail in Ionia, Michigan. We are looking for someone who demonstrates integrity, strong character, a positive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a structured correctional environment. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Availability to work rotating weekends and holidays.
Flexibility to work varying days and hours, with shifts scheduled between 8:30 AM and 6:30 PM.
Ability to work 10-hour shifts.
Successful clearance and approval to work within the facility.

Nice To Haves

Previous food service or kitchen experience is preferred, but it is not required. We are willing to train the right person! A strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and commitment to teamwork are what matter most.

Responsibilities

Work professionally and effectively in a structured correctional environment.
Read, understand, and follow company recipes and food preparation guidelines.
Lead, instruct, and assist with daily kitchen operations and meal preparation.
Perform food preparation, baking, cooking, and kitchen cleanup duties.
Maintain a positive attitude while helping ensure meals are prepared and served efficiently.
