About The Position

LandSea provides accommodation and catering solutions for workforces in remote locations throughout BC. This term position starts August 13th until the return of the incumbent. The Lead Cook is responsible for preparing breakfast and service, plus preparing all baked items, as outlined in a predetermined menu plan. This role is responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining kitchen operations, and ensuring a consistent and safe food environment. Our camps are located in remote areas and staff live on-site on scheduled shifts and leave camp on scheduled breaks. Most of our LandSea camps offer individual staff accommodation, ensuite or shared bathroom, full meals, WIFI and some have health/gym facilities for staff. Camp staff work long hours and multiple days in a row. A typical workday is between 10-12 hours (day or night shift) and overtime rates apply. Health and Safety and a Respectful Workplace are essential for everyone working together at LandSea. Our camps are drug and alcohol-free workplaces and require pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years' previous experience as a breakfast cook, line cook, baker or similar role
  • High production baking experience while maintaining a minimum of 70% scratch baking
  • Knowledge of breakfast food preparation and cooking techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Great communication. Speak, read and write English
  • Team player who can provide support, motivation, and encouragement to others
  • Valid Government Issued ID for travel if required
  • Two (2) references from former employers required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook breakfast items such as eggs, omelets, pancakes, waffles, breakfast meats, and other menu offerings.
  • Set up and stock cooking stations before service.
  • Ensure all food is prepared according to recipes, portion standards, and quality requirements.
  • Monitor food inventory and notify management of supply needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food products.
  • Work efficiently during busy breakfast service periods.
  • Support other kitchen staff as needed.
  • Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations after service.
