About The Position

Tigg's Canteen Services is seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join their team as a Permanent Part-Time Lead Cook at Cheboygan County Jail in Cheboygan, MI. This role is for individuals with integrity, strong character, a positive can-do attitude, and the ability to work successfully in a structured environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work effectively in a structured correctional environment
• Ability to read and follow recipes and production guidelines
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays
• Flexibility to work varying days and hours between 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
• Ability to obtain facility clearance and approval

Nice To Haves

• Previous cooking or institutional kitchen experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving meals according to company recipes and standards
• Assisting with food preparation, baking, and cooking while overseeing inmates
• Leading and supporting kitchen operations during assigned shifts
• Training, instructing, and assisting team members as needed
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen
• Following facility requirements and food safety procedures
• Helping ensure daily kitchen operations are completed efficiently
