About The Position

AC Hotel & Moxy Dallas is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Cook to help oversee daily kitchen operations while delivering exceptional food quality and service. The Lead Cook will serve as a key member of the culinary team, providing guidance to kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to recipes and food safety standards, and supporting efficient kitchen execution. This position is ideal for a culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and enjoys leading by example.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of culinary experience, with previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in a hotel, restaurant, resort, or high-volume food service environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety regulations.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop team members.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support daily kitchen operations, ensuring food is prepared and presented according to established recipes and brand standards.
  • Coordinate food production and workflow to ensure timely service during breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events.
  • Train, mentor, and assist cooks and kitchen staff in proper cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen procedures.
  • Set up and maintain workstations with the necessary ingredients, equipment, and supplies for service.
  • Prepare, cook, and plate menu items while maintaining consistency, quality, and presentation standards.
  • Monitor food quality, taste, and portion control to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
  • Inspect ingredients and products for freshness and quality and report any concerns to management.
  • Assist with inventory management, receiving deliveries, stocking, and minimizing food waste.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment at all times.
  • Support the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage leadership team with menu execution, special events, and operational initiatives.
  • Assist with scheduling, shift supervision, and kitchen opening and closing procedures as assigned.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment focused on excellence and guest satisfaction.
