About The Position

Tigg's Canteen Services is searching for a dependable, hardworking, and motivated Part-Time Lead Cook to join our team at the Muskegon Juvenile County Jail. We're looking for someone who brings integrity, strong character, teamwork, and a positive can-do attitude to the workplace. Requirements

• Ability to work well in a structured correctional environment
• Ability to read and follow company recipes
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to lead, instruct, and assist with meal preparation
• Ability to assist with food preparation, baking, cooking, and clean-up
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
• Flexibility to work varying days and hours between 9:30 AM and 6:30 PM
• Must be able to obtain clearance approval into the facility

Nice To Haves

• Previous food service or kitchen experience would be a plus

Responsibilities

• Leading, instructing, and assisting inmates in the kitchen.
• Preparing meals according to company recipes
• Food preparation and cooking
• Baking
• Kitchen clean-up
• Following company recipes, procedures, and standards
• Working effectively in a structured correctional environment
• Safely lifting and handling items weighing up to 50 pounds
