About The Position

Cypress Creek Renewables is seeking a highly motivated candidate to lead the monitoring and the day-to-day operation of a rapidly growing portfolio of utility-scale PV & storage facilities. The Lead Control Center Operator will support individuals responsible for continuous real-time monitoring and control of Solar Facility safety, reliability, and output. The candidate will be trained in the essential knowledge and skills necessary to monitor and operate utility-scale solar generation facilities.

Requirements

  • A.S. or B.S. in a technical field of study.
  • Knowledge of power generation design or operations.
  • Knowledge of ERCOT Interconnection – ERCOT Trading.
  • Knowledge of PV systems, including DC systems, AC medium voltage systems, and network communications and monitoring.
  • Diagnostic capabilities to troubleshoot and correct problems found via DAS.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite.
  • Experience working with a CMMS platform (preferably for operations and maintenance of power generation facilities).
  • Experience working with DAS.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

  • Available to report for full-time work at our Control Center located at our Durham office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Control Center Supervisor in leading the team members responsible for 24/7 monitoring and operations of numerous solar & storage facilities.
  • Assist in the training and continuous improvement of personnel and processes utilized within the control center.
  • Coordinates staff to ensure proper execution of job responsibilities of the individual and proper execution of company objectives.
  • Assist with inclement weather incident response.
  • Respond to DAS Alerts, and abnormal facility conditions via remote operations and alert appropriate parties.
  • Act as point of contact for field technicians, remote plant operators, utilities, and operators regarding performance, control, and schedules for solar & storage facilities.
  • Responsible for maintaining availability levels at each solar facility as well as following curtailment directives.
  • Perform daily reporting of solar facility performance.
  • Data analysis of underperforming systems.
  • Aid field technicians with system troubleshooting and provide routine dispatch.
