About The Position

This is an exciting and dynamic role at DFW Airport, serving as a SkyLink Control Center Operator at the heart of the airport’s automated transportation system. The position requires technical expertise, quick decision-making, and real-time problem-solving to ensure safe and efficient transportation for passengers, employees, and airline personnel between terminals. Operators will monitor and control SkyLink’s real-time operations, respond to potential or active emergencies, and play a key role in airport security and crisis management. Requirements

  • Completion of high school curriculum or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of experience with console control systems in a real-time environment. Examples may include (but are not limited to) Airport Operations Centers, Rail, Public Transit or Public Safety dispatch or Government/Military operations facilities.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor & Control: Analyze system performance and direct operational adjustments via control systems and dispatching maintenance teams.
  • Emergency Response: Assess data, declare states of alert, and take action during emergencies, ensuring smooth system recovery.
  • Security Oversight: Implement breach of security protocols in compliance with DFW, TSA, and federal policies.
  • Crisis Management: Direct Department of Public Safety (DPS) personnel to emergency locations and assist in real-time safety responses.
  • Service Level Adjustments: Optimize SkyLink routes and train scheduling based on airline forecasts, demand, and observations.
  • Weather Monitoring: Track critical weather information and initiate appropriate alerts for SkyLink operations.
  • Customer Service & Problem-Solving: Assist passengers and airport tenants by responding to service issues, complaints, and disruptions.
  • Training & Development: Participate in continuous training, certifications, and requalification programs to maintain operational excellence.
