About The Position

Join an electrical contractor supporting the new construction of a large-scale data center in Wheatfield, IN. This is a long-term opportunity for an experienced safety leader to provide overall safety leadership for electrical construction operations throughout multiple phases of a mission-critical project. The Lead Construction Safety Manager will maintain a strong field presence while providing leadership to the site safety program, partnering with electrical crews, field supervision, and project management to proactively identify hazards, maintain compliance, and drive a strong safety culture throughout the project.

Requirements

  • BCSP Certification (CHST, ASP, CSP, or equivalent)
  • OSHA 30 Construction Certification
  • Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience
  • Previous Lead Safety Manager or comparable safety leadership experience
  • Working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards
  • Working knowledge of Electrical Construction Safety
  • Working knowledge of Data Center & Mission-Critical Construction
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70E Electrical Safety
  • Working knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
  • Working knowledge of Hazardous Energy Control
  • Working knowledge of Electrical Shock & Arc Flash Hazards
  • Working knowledge of Temporary Power & Electrical Distribution
  • Working knowledge of Electrical Equipment Installation
  • Working knowledge of Energization & Commissioning Safety
  • Working knowledge of Fall Protection & Elevated Work
  • Working knowledge of Aerial Lifts & MEWPs
  • Working knowledge of Material Handling Operations

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day construction safety operations for the electrical contractor
  • Maintain a highly visible field presence alongside electrical crews and project supervision
  • Provide safety leadership, coaching, and direction to field personnel
  • Conduct routine site inspections, audits, field observations, and risk assessments
  • Monitor electrical installation activities and evolving electrical hazards as construction progresses
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements
  • Support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hazardous energy control, and electrical safe work practices
  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation
  • Coordinate safety activities with project management, superintendents, foremen, and subcontractors
  • Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, reports, and compliance records
  • Track corrective actions and verify successful completion
  • Mentor and support other safety personnel as needed
  • Proactively identify project risks and implement effective controls
  • Promote a strong, proactive safety culture throughout the project
