About The Position

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Compensation, the Compensation Lead is a strategic partner to Pinterest's Engineering and Product organizations — and a key player in how we attract, reward, and retain world-class talent. In this role, you'll build consultative, trusted relationships with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders, proactively advising on complex compensation matters across the entire employee lifecycle. You'll bring data to life — combining deep analytics, market insights, and internal talent data to ensure Pinterest's compensation practices stay competitive, equitable, and true to our compensation philosophy. If you're a strategic thinker who thrives at the intersection of data, business partnership, and innovation — and you're excited to shape how a leading tech company rewards its people — we'd love to hear from you.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years supporting global compensation programs and client groups, ideally across Engineering and/or Product organizations
  • Familiarity with one or more insights tools strongly preferred, such as Market Pay, Compa, and/or Radford
  • Comfortable working in Google Sheets
  • Hands-on experience with an HRIS, with Workday a plus
  • A track record of using AI to develop compensation tools or dashboards, paired with rigorous oversight of accuracy and integrity
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, grounded in a solutions-oriented mindset
  • A natural relationship-builder who partners effectively across functions
  • Sharp analytical and quantitative abilities, with an unwavering commitment to accuracy
  • A holistic problem solver with a growth mindset, unafraid to challenge assumptions and apply critical thinking
  • Adept at juggling competing priorities and supporting multiple stakeholders in a fast-moving environment
  • Skilled at applying AI to streamline compensation workflows, while validating outputs and retaining ownership of final recommendations
  • Outstanding planning, organizational, and project management capabilities
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Finance, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on experience

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate strong, collaborative partnerships with HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, and Engineering & Product leaders, serving as a trusted advisor on the full spectrum of compensation activities — including new hire offers, promotions, critical talent decisions, and retention strategies
  • Harness market insights, industry trends, and internal talent data — amplified by AI-powered tools — to deliver sharp, data-driven recommendations that strengthen the effectiveness and competitive positioning of Pinterest's compensation practices
  • Critically assess the effectiveness of existing global programs, practices, and processes, and champion actionable recommendations for improvement that align with external market trends and Pinterest's strategic objectives
  • Drive key compensation initiatives from end to end, including annual compensation planning, promotion cycles, and equity award cycles
  • Design, build, and maintain compensation tools, dashboards, and automated reporting solutions that elevate the speed, accuracy, and accessibility of compensation insights for business partners and leadership
  • Develop and continuously refine compensation communication and training materials that drive deeper understanding, engagement, and adoption of Pinterest's compensation programs across the organization
