Join us during this period of rapid growth within a collaborative, small team setting with a flat organizational structure, guided by our core values: care, integrity, respect, collaboration, and excellence. i-80 Gold Corp. is seeking an energetic, relationship-driven Lead, Community Relations – Ruby Hill Complex, to serve as the Company's primary community representative for the Ruby Hill Complex and support the successful development and ramp-up of the Archimedes and Mineral Point Projects. Reporting to the Manager, Community Development & Engagement, this position supports implementation of i-80 Gold's Community Development and Stakeholder Engagement Strategy through local relationship building, community outreach, stakeholder engagement, and community investment activities. Serving as the face of i-80 Gold in Eureka, Nevada, the Senior Community Relations Advisor will maintain a visible community presence, build trusted relationships, coordinate local initiatives, and provide boots-on-the-ground support that strengthens community partnerships and supports Operations. Working closely with others in the External Affairs & Sustainability Team, this role serves as the local implementation lead for community engagement activities at the Ruby Hill Complex. The successful candidate will become an active member of the Eureka community, serving as a trusted local resource while representing i-80 Gold's values through everyday interactions. Success in this role will be measured by the ability to build trusted relationships, identify emerging opportunities and concerns, and strengthen partnerships that support both the Company and the communities where we operate. This position is based at the Ruby Hill Complex near Eureka, Nevada. Frequent travel throughout Eureka County, including Crescent Valley, Pine Valley, Diamond Valley, and neighboring Tribal communities, as well as occasional travel to other i-80 Gold operations and communities throughout Northern Nevada, is required.

Requirements

  • 3–7 years of experience in community relations, stakeholder engagement, public affairs, communications, community development, Tribal relations, local government, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust, establish authentic relationships, and engage effectively with rural communities and diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and public speaking skills, with the ability to represent the Company professionally and communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience planning and coordinating community meetings, public events, outreach initiatives, volunteer programs, or stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively across Operations, Human Resources, External Affairs, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience using stakeholder databases, data tracking, or reporting tools.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly throughout Northern Nevada.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Community Development, Business, Political Science, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience in mining, energy, construction, or other industrial sector.
  • Experience working with Tribal governments or Indigenous communities.
  • Familiarity with Northern Nevada communities and local government.
  • Knowledge of stakeholder engagement, community development, workforce housing, or socio-economic considerations related to mining operations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as i-80 Gold's primary community representative for the Ruby Hill Complex by maintaining a visible presence and building trusted relationships with local governments, schools, businesses, nonprofit organizations, Tribal communities, employees, contractors, and community leaders.
  • Support implementation of the Company's Community Development and Stakeholder Engagement Strategy by fostering partnerships, monitoring community sentiment, and communicating stakeholder feedback, opportunities, and emerging issues to Operations and the Community Development & Engagement team.
  • Represent the Company at community meetings, public events, and local initiatives while promoting i-80 Gold's values and commitment to responsible project development.
  • Support implementation of i-80 Gold's charitable giving, sponsorship, employee volunteer, and community investment programs through local coordination, outreach, and relationship management.
  • Plan and coordinate community outreach activities, including Town Hall meetings, educational partnerships, volunteer initiatives, mine tours, scholarship programs, and other stakeholder engagement opportunities.
  • Coordinate outreach materials, event logistics, and reporting to measure participation, community impact, and program effectiveness.
  • Support implementation of the Company's Tribal Relations and stakeholder engagement strategies through local relationship building, meeting coordination, community outreach, and timely follow-up.
  • Assist with stakeholder engagement activities associated with project development, permitting, and operational priorities by maintaining engagement records, supporting communications, and coordinating local implementation.
  • Working closely with others in the External Affairs & Sustainability Team to support long-term stakeholder relationships and consistent engagement across the Company's operations.
  • Support implementation of community development initiatives that strengthen workforce attraction, community capacity, and long-term sustainability.
  • Assist with community development projects, including workforce housing, childcare, education, healthcare, emergency services, infrastructure, economic development, and other local priorities.
  • Provide administrative support for workforce housing coordination and collaborate with internal departments, developers, contractors, local government, and community partners.
  • Promote i-80 Gold's culture of integrity, respect, accountability, and community stewardship by fostering positive relationships between employees, contractors, and the communities where we operate.
  • Partner with Operations, Human Resources, Supply Chain, Health, Safety & Security, and the External Affairs & Sustainability team to reinforce i-80 Gold's Community Code of Conduct and expectations for respectful community engagement.
  • Collect community stories, photographs, stakeholder feedback, and engagement metrics while supporting newsletters, presentations, social media, and reporting that communicate the Company's community partnerships and impact.
