The Commercial Manager (CM) is responsible for instilling commercial intensity and rigor in assigned deal opportunities, managing the quoting, proposal generation, contract negotiation, and turnover processes. This position requires an individual with the understanding and experience to execute business objectives, contribute to both short-term and long-term planning, and influence overall business strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a technical equivalent from an accredited college or university.
  • 3+ years of experience in Sales/Commercial Operations, or graduate from a GE leadership program with two commercial assignments/projects, or field/estimating/proposal experience within Energy and/or Industrial sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a key member of the Fossil Americas team to achieve commitments, orders, sales, cash, operating profit, and margin targets.
  • Lead proposal generation and contract formation for upgrades, repairs, and site services projects in collaboration with the Fossil Americas Sales team.
  • Develop winning strategies to ensure successful deal closures while adhering to the Company’s Policy 5.0 risk management process.
  • Support the Sales team during commercial and technical meetings and negotiations with customers.
  • Drive the proposal and contract processes, defining scope, cost, risk, and market/value pricing strategies to meet customer and Fossil Americas requirements and business goals.
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and other functional teams to ensure technical and business risks are properly assessed and incorporated into proposals and contracts.
  • Prepare and lead Deal Team review processes in coordination with leaders, subject matter experts, approvers, and functional teams.
  • Reduce cost-of-quality issues arising from inaccurate scope definition, costing, or contract drafting during the process, including handover and advance release.
