Requirements

7+ years of experience in area of responsibility.
Familiarity with accounting principles and practical application within the collection environment.

Nice To Haves

Technical certification or associate degree may be required in some areas.
5+ years progressively responsible credit and collections experience.
Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Administering and providing guidance and resolution for a wide variety of collection functions.
Verifying, researching, and resolving issues regarding billing and posting variances.
Providing oversight for day-to-day activities of the team.
Confers with customer by telephone or in person to determine reason for overdue payment and review terms of sales, service, or credit contract.
Compiles and maintains basic credit information about financial status of customer and status of collection efforts.
Reviews and monitors credit sources, credit files, customer applications, and delinquent accounts.
Maintains records on credit risks, delinquent accounts and incomplete files.
Reviews and submits adjustments and write-offs to management in accordance with company policy.
Serves as mentor and trainer for junior team members.
Troubleshoots complex support or operational problems for junior level associates.
Independently resolves issues and applies a variety of methods to develop customized solutions.
Leads the daily operations of a department or team.
Trains, delegates tasks, and reviews the work of junior level associates.
