The Lead CNC Programmer designs, optimizes, validates, and maintains CNC programs for complex multi-axis machining operations, including milling, turning, grinding, and EDM. The role supports large VTLs, VBMs, 5-axis mills, and multi-purpose turn/grind machines up to 2.5 meters, machining high-temperature superalloys such as Inconel, Rene, and other exotic nickel alloys. Programs are created using NX-CAM or other graphical CAM software and must follow established standards and qualified machining parameters. The position uses digital-twin and machine-simulation tools, including Vericut and Siemens Run My Virtual Machine, to validate programs and optimize toolpaths before production. It also develops probing routines, macro programs, and closed-loop machining processes; supports tooling and fixturing; and creates workstation instructions for CNC-related issues. Working with manufacturing engineers and shop-floor teams, the programmer supports machine-tool commissioning and startup, proves out first-piece components, troubleshoots setups, trains operators, and provides daily CNC programming support. The role also leads process-improvement projects focused on safety, quality, cost, and delivery, while communicating effectively and collaborating in a fast-paced, matrixed organization. This is a second-shift position and may require access to U.S. export-controlled information.
