About The Position

Max Aerostructures is currently hiring a Lead CNC Machinist for our weekend shift. Hours are Friday thru Sunday 6:30pm-6:00am. This role involves communicating and overseeing shift production schedule requirements and expectations, communicating with all levels of management, and supervising the crew while working on projects and resolving issues. The Lead CNC Machinist will study blueprints, sketches, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Responsibilities include selecting, aligning, and securing holding fixtures, cutting tools, accessories, and materials on machines to machine parts as required. This role also involves calculating and setting controls for machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or entering commands to edit computerized machine control media. The machinist will start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, adjusting controls as needed. Verifying conformance of finished work-piece to specifications using measuring and inspection tools, and setting up and operating machines on trial runs are also key functions. Additionally, the role requires conferring with production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of blue prints and CNC (Haas) Machines
  • Clean machinery and maintain cleanliness in work area
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand, sit, bend, kneel, squat and walk on a regular basis.
  • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Must adhere to safety procedures at all times.

  • Verified conformance or finished work-piece to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools as necessary.
  • Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
  • Confers with production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
