The role is for a highly accomplished Lead Cloud Engineer & Manager to join the Cloud Storage Engineering team, focusing on architecting and managing large-scale storage on GCP and AWS, and setting enterprise-wide guidelines for cloud storage solutions. This position is key to leveraging public cloud capabilities for enterprise agility, efficiency, and innovation.

Requirements

  • 8+ years' hands-on experience in Cloud Infrastructure Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3+ years' experience operating at a management level, with direct responsibility for defining and executing cloud strategy for a large-scale enterprise.
  • Deep, demonstrable expertise in architecting, deploying, and managing enterprise-grade cloud storage across multiple public cloud providers, with a preference for GCP and AWS.
  • Strong understanding of modern software development practices and proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, GKE, EKS) and their integration with resilient data storage patterns.
  • Ability to quickly grasp new technologies and perform proof-of-concepts or technical deep dives to inform strategic decisions.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to translate complex business challenges into actionable technical roadmaps.
  • Proven experience leading, building, and motivating high-performing teams or individuals within a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Define and articulate the comprehensive vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for cloud storage engineering across a global public cloud footprint (GCP and AWS).
  • Ensure the cloud storage strategy aligns with the overall enterprise technology strategy and business objectives.
  • Develop and implement new patterns for moving data at scale from on-premises data centers to public cloud storage.
  • Continuously identify and evaluate new storage offerings from cloud service providers to determine their potential value and scope of implementation.
  • Maintain hands-on proficiency by strategically contributing to key codebases and automating solutions using Python.
  • Perform high-level code reviews and provide technical guidance on Python-based solutions to ensure architectural integrity and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Provide expert technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship across engineering teams to foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
  • Engage with and influence senior executives, business leaders, and key stakeholders to champion the cloud storage strategy and communicate its business value.
  • Strategically influence or directly manage the allocation of significant financial and human capital resources to optimize investments in strategic initiatives.
