About The Position

Publix Super Markets, Inc. is seeking a Lead Cloud Engineer for its Data & AI team. This role involves partnering with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and scale AI solutions and frameworks, focusing on innovative generative AI technologies to address complex business challenges and deliver significant business impact. The position is hybrid, requiring candidates to reside within a commutable distance of Lakeland, FL, or be willing to relocate. The interview process includes at least one onsite interview at the Lakeland, FL campus.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related analytical field, or equivalent experience.
7+ years in Public Cloud Services: PaaS, database services, network infrastructure (VNETs, subnets, NSGs, VPC, DNS), security, and monitoring tools.
2+ years in Version Control Systems: Git, Azure DevOps.
1+ years of experience using AI CLI tools.
1+ years of experience in Production Support: troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
1+ years of experience in Scripting and Automation: writing scripts and automating processes.

Nice To Haves

9+ years in Public Cloud Services: PaaS, database services, network infrastructure (VNETs, subnets, NSGs, VPC, DNS), security, and monitoring tools.
5+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
3+ years of experience leading technical teams and projects.
3+ years of Cross-Platform Experience: Experience with multiple cloud providers (Azure, Google Cloud).
1+ years of experience in Cost Management: Demonstrated ability to optimize cloud costs and resource utilization.
1+ years of experience in Configuration Management: Experience with Infrastructure as code, such as Terraform.
Advanced Cloud Certifications: Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
Architectural Design Skills: Proven track record in designing scalable and resilient cloud architecture.

Responsibilities

Lead deployment and maintenance of AI infrastructure in Azure and GCP.
Responsible for maintaining Infrastructure as Code for AI and model workloads and compute resources.
Lead strategy meetings to improve shared AI infrastructure and platform services.
Own standards for deploying AI services, model workloads, and inference infrastructure in Azure and GCP.
Lead automation initiatives to improve CI/CD pipelines for AI application teams.
Lead troubleshooting efforts for AI infrastructure, model deployments, and pipeline failures.
Troubleshoot application and model workload deployment issues.
