About The Position

Perform direct client contact duties via face-to-face and telehealth. Provide individual, group, family, couples, crisis, informal and formal therapeutic sessions. Lead daily structured therapeutic group activities to promote positive youth development and trauma-informed care. Implement weekly group therapy and support groups to a select group of youth and caregivers via in-person, virtual, or hybrid-format sessions, to be determined based on the needs of the participants. Take lead in collaborative meetings, multi-disciplinary treatment, and other service coordination to best serve multi-system involved youth and their families. Ensure all YFS clinical referrals are responded to quickly and efficiently. Lead bi-weekly clinical case conferences with the clinical team to review past and current YFS clients and cases. Provide on-call guidance to caseworkers and clinical trainees in conjunction with the agency’s leads and supervisors. Conduct regular informal check-ins with Clinical Trainees, Caseworkers, and Coordinators to offer additional support and guidance to front-line staff at all YFS programs. Act as a liaison between front-line staff, and Directors to enhance service delivery via identified staff training, program updates, and new opportunities. Thoroughly document, asses, and establish running diagnoses and treatment plans for each client including training, education, and oversight. Collect and document client demographic information, safety screenings, and other pertinent information to ensure client records and documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and confidential. Utilize effective de-escalation techniques and interventions while responding to 24/7 crisis hotline and drop-ins, intakes, one-on-one check-ins, and family meetings or mediations. Conduct screenings and assessments with each youth to develop client individual service plans and make appropriate internal and external referrals for services. Ensure clients receive clinical assessments including and not limited to the Adverse Childhood Experiences Questionnaire (ACEs) and others as needed. Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Master’s Degree required
  • Associate or Licensure preferred in Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Counseling, Social Work, or other related licensure; will accept current graduate-level enrollment toward licensure
  • 2+ years related work experience
  • At least one year of experience with individual/group/team mediation and conflict resolution
  • Complete required certifications within 60 days of hire
  • Complete all required Branch and Position specific trainings as required within two weeks of hire
  • Ability to obtain a criminal record clearance
  • Maintain a valid California driver’s license, active participation in the California DMV Pull Program, an acceptable driving record and approval status as determined by the Channel Islands YMCA and/or its insurance carrier
