Requirements

  • Knowledge of Psychology: human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
  • Knowledge of Therapy and Counseling: principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions, and for career counseling and guidance.
  • Knowledge of Customer and Personal Service: principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • An advanced degree (MS, MA, PhD) in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
  • One (1) year direct work experience.
  • A current LCPC or LCSW License.
  • Maintain the specific professional license and/or professional certification as required by state, federal governing boards, and other such certification boards as a condition of continued employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical program supervision according to administrative rule and corporate policy for assigned programs.
  • Counsel clients one-on-one to assist with mental health issues.
  • Interview clients, review records, and confer with professionals to evaluate mental conditions.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, directors, staff physicians, and other professionals to plan and coordinate treatment.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and record client progress with respect to treatment goals.
  • Refer clients and family members to community resources for services and ensure service efficacy.
  • Provide clinical assistance to other staff serving clients.
  • May provide consultation, evaluation, and treatment services.
  • Spend time with consumer and family as assigned and/or identified on the treatment plan and as determined by licensing guidelines.
  • Assure each assigned program is in compliance with licensing, Medicaid standards, and AWARE Quality of Care Standards.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings of consumers and act as a member of an interdisciplinary service/treatment team.
  • Report behavioral and emotional observations of consumers and/or family members to the Support Team and modify treatment plans accordingly.
  • Utilize H.E.L.P. (including therapeutic holds) when a resident is a danger to self or others; perform basic First Aid and/or CPR when needed.
  • Attend and participate in mandatory training, in-services, staff meetings, and Corporate Committees as assigned.
  • Conduct treatment team meetings with the caregiver to develop an individualized treatment plan.
  • Write treatment summaries at least monthly describing progress and changes in strengths and needs of the youth and caregiver.
  • Demonstrate willingness and ability to productively utilize work time to meet the needs of individuals served, meeting specific fiscal goals (billing, case load number maintenance, weekly) on a monthly basis.
  • Develop a crisis plan with the caregiver that identifies potential crisis situations and corresponding responses (24/7 direct and telephonic).
  • Utilize and accurately record data using AWARE’s Electronic Medical Records System as assigned, outlined, and trained.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
