About The Position

Balance Health, the largest majority podiatrist owned practice in the country and the nation’s premier comprehensive lower-extremity focused Physician Practice, is looking for an Associate Surgical Podiatrist to serve the Missoula community. The ideal candidate will be hard-working, comfortable performing surgery as well as routine care, with a phenomenal bedside manner who treats patients with exceptional care. The practice utilizes current technology including Digital X-ray, Diagnostic ultrasound, Digital gait analysis, CAD orthotic scanning and design, CAM based in office orthotic lab, EPAT shock wave therapy, MLS class IV laser therapy, MicroVAS electronic therapy, SWIFT microwave for verruca, Amniotic treatments for ulcers and musculoskeletal problems, and a Web-based EMR. Staff development and education are important, with regular training meetings for general staff and medical staff meetings to discuss cases, concerns, and refine systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years professional experience preferred
  • Current License as a Podiatrist in the State of Montana
  • Doctoral degree in Podiatric Medicine from an Accredited School of Podiatry
  • Board certification through the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery
  • Ability to observe, assess and record symptoms, reactions, and progress
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care
  • Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills that allow effective working relationships with diverse patient, colleague, and vendor populations
  • PC Proficient with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook and EMR database
  • Ability to provide legal proof of eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Ability to successfully pass an in-depth background investigation

Responsibilities

  • Examine patients’ legs and feet to diagnose diseases
  • Treat bone, muscle, and joint disorders affecting the feet and ankles
  • Perform surgical procedures as necessary along with wound care management as needed
  • Diagnose diseases and deformities of the foot and ankle using medical histories, physical examinations, x-rays, and laboratory test results
  • Prescribe medications, corrective devices, physical therapy, or surgery
  • Advise patients about treatments and foot and ankle care techniques necessary for prevention of future problems
  • Provide education/consultation to patients, family, and health care team
  • Provide health promotion and preventive medicine
  • Appropriately maintains medical records on assigned patients
