The Lead Clinical Nurse (LCN) will provide guidance and direction to professional employees and ancillary staff under the direction of the Nurse Executive. This role ensures the organization’s strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are communicated and integrated into the team’s strategies, goals, objectives, work plans, and services. The LCN identifies, distributes, and balances workload, provides performance coaching, identifies training needs, and monitors work progress. They will maintain a professional and caring attitude, promote a positive workplace, and maintain professional knowledge through continuing education. Clinical duties include performing interviews, health assessments, determining plans of care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, documenting patient care, administering treatments and medications, and independently managing patient care. The LCN will utilize Evidence-based Guidelines for Practice, participate in the on-call schedule, lead process improvement initiatives, and serve on hospital committees. Additionally, they will complete all yearly Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) required training and assist in promoting compliance with CMS standards. This position also involves performing other duties as assigned.
