About The Position

Reports to Center Director and Assistant Director. Prepares and/or serves Breakfast, hot lunches and snacks for children enrolled in the Learning Academy. Plans weekly plans based off set menus, calculates and develops orders based off set menus and understands and can implement proper prep and pull thaw procedures. Organizes and cleans kitchen according to health and sanitation standards and upholds HACCP systems. Maintain nutritional requirements as identified by CCFP/FDA program.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Background verification check mandatory.
Wear hairnet or hat while in kitchen
ServSafe Food Manger Certificate
Able to read and adhere to recipes and menus
Ability to perform measurement necessary in cooking for large groups.
Ability to maintain a safe and sanitary food preparation area.
Ability to relate to and work effectively with staff and young children.
Ability to be flexible and adjust to many varied situations.
Ability to maintain appropriate and professional behavior at all times.
Ability to work under pressure with multiple interruptions and meet deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse, multi-cultural community environment.
Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare Meals according to planned menus for all meals and snacks on time, at the appropriate temperature.
Record the distribution of proper food measurements on the daily basis to comply with local and state (FDA, Food and Nutrition-CACFP) requirements and control all controllable costs with minimal to zero waste.
Cleans and maintains kitchen area in a sanitary, safe and organized manner as required by the company and health and sanitation standards. (FIFO, time and temperature, date and labels, etc)
Make sure all Thermometers are working properly
Ensure all food items are checked for expiration dates
Wash and sanitize all dishes
Clean the entire kitchen and appliances throughout the day (according to daily and Weekly cleaning lists)
Remove trash and recyclables daily
Check order and invoice accuracy and put away all food orders and non-food orders
Completes duties and responsibilities in compliance with Grow With Us Learning Academy policies and guidelines.
Completes all required training and professional development sessions.
Supports and follows the values and mission statement of Grow With Us Learning Academy’s.
Participates in the development of outcomes, monitors assessment of those appropriate outcomes, and assists in the development of plans of action for improvement based on the assessment of those outcomes.
Protect the privacy and confidentiality of information pertaining to families, children, team members, administration and the company.
Build positive relationships and communicate in a respectful manner with families, children, team members, administration, Corporate Leadership and vendors in the community we serve
Attends the workplace regularly as per the defined work schedule and reports to work punctually.
