About The Position

Lead Cash Application Full-Time - 40 hours per week. Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm Location: Downers Grove, IL This is a fully onsite position Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits that include healthcare navigation assistance. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred
  • 1–3+ years of experience in medical payment posting, healthcare revenue cycle, or medical billing environment
  • Experience working with insurance payers, patient payments, and third-party reimbursements required

Responsibilities

  • Post daily payments from patients, insurance companies, and third-party payers to appropriate accounts in the system.
  • Reconcile daily cash receipts and deposit reports with bank statements.
  • Identify and resolve payments, underpayments, and misapplied funds.
  • Process refunds or adjustments as necessary based on payer guidelines or patient requests.
  • Research and resolve unapplied or unidentified payments in a timely manner.
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and always protect patient confidentiality.
  • Utilize billing software and electronic remittance systems effectively.
  • Effective use of payer portals to obtain information to be able to post accurately.
  • Verifies and maintains adjustment records.
  • Stay abreast of and comply with all state and federal laws including HIPAA, ADA, OSHA and FLSA.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned knowledge of – medical business office procedures, coding, clinical operating policies and procedures.
  • Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness, prepare records in accordance with detailed instructions, work effectively with co-workers.
