About The Position

This role involves meeting federal and state regulatory guidelines, maintaining a caseload, completing case management tracking, reviewing reunification packets, submitting forms to the Department of Children’s Services, and assisting children during departure/reunification. The position also requires participation in meetings, workshops, and maintaining accurate records. Employees must implement safety protocols, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to professional and ethical standards. Other responsibilities include communicating with families and sponsors, processing sponsor information, participating in case staffing meetings, meeting with assigned children, and meeting deadlines. The role also supports foster care programs by encouraging and recruiting foster parents.

Requirements

  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
  • Master’s degree in the behavioral sciences, human services or social services fields or bachelor’s degree and at least three (3) years progressive employment experience that demonstrates supervisory and case management experience.
  • First aid, CPR, Emergency behavior intervention certifications.
  • One (1) year related experience and/or training OR three (3) years of progressive employment experience that demonstrates supervisory and case management experience with a bachelor’s degree.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment.
  • Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.
  • Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.
  • Demonstrate the ability to respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with other staff members, service providers and professionals.
  • Demonstrate the ability to provide crisis intervention according to training provided by Compass Connections when needed to maintain a safe environment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times.
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all Compass Connections policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this position.
  • Maintain a case load in accordance with agency policies and procedures and licensing and contract standards.
  • Complete Case Management Tracking for each assigned child.
  • Review completed family reunification packets for accuracy and follow up with sponsor to discuss any issues identified.
  • Complete and submit all relevant forms to the Department of Children’s Services with a copy of Family Reunification Packet.
  • Receive approved interim Verification Release Form, review with child, and obtain child’s signature.
  • Prepare sponsors to successfully complete and sign all required forms and documents. Forward original documents to Executive Office of Immigration Review (EOIR) with a copy to Department of Homeland Security.
  • Complete and submit notice to Executive Office of Immigration Review when Contractor issues approval to release the child.
  • Assist children during departure/reunification, as needed.
  • Participate in scheduled meetings and team decisions and operations.
  • Participate in workshops, seminars, education programs and activities that promote professional growth and development.
  • Compile, prepare, submit, and maintain accurate records, files, forms, statistics, and additional information in accordance with agency policies, licensing and/or contract requirements.
  • Review and sign children’s records in accordance with agency policies and procedures and applicable licensing and contract standards.
  • Work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed or requested by position supervisor.
  • Implement Compass Connections safety protocols including evacuating with children and other staff in case of an emergency.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.
  • Maintain Compass Connections professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in Compass Connections employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, the service population, and community members and complying with required dress code at all times.
  • Communicate with families and/or prospective sponsor(s) within the specified timeframe to discuss the role of Compass Connections and the reunification process.
  • Process the sponsor information necessary for reunification within the required timeframe.
  • Actively participate in case staffing meetings with the federal Field Coordinators and follow-up with recommendations.
  • Meet with each assigned child one time between Sunday and Saturday and as requested by child.
  • Meet all deadlines required by program supervisor and federal partners.
  • Support, encourage, and recruit foster parents.
