About The Position

Sebring Design Build is a premier residential design-build remodeling firm based in Franklin, Tennessee. We specialize in kitchens, bathrooms, additions, and whole-home renovations for discerning homeowners throughout Middle Tennessee. We operate with a structured, design-driven process and hold a high standard for craftsmanship, professionalism, and jobsite leadership. We are seeking a Lead Carpenter who can independently run high-end remodeling projects in the field with minimal oversight while upholding Sebring's reputation for precision and professionalism. This is a leadership role - not just a carpentry position.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of residential remodeling or construction experience.
  • Prior experience as a Lead Carpenter or field leader preferred.
  • Strong finish carpentry and general carpentry skillset.
  • Ability to read and execute construction drawings accurately.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving ability.
  • Professional communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Daily jobsite control and trade coordination.
  • Sequence trades proactively to maintain momentum.
  • Anticipate the next 3-5 days of production at all times.
  • Hold subcontractors accountable to quality expectations.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with homeowners.
  • Protect finished work and maintain a clean, organized jobsite.
  • Keep the Project Manager informed without requiring constant direction.
  • Frame with downstream finishes in mind (cabinetry, tile, trim tolerances).
  • Verify and correct framing flatness before trades begin.
  • Understand beam installs and structural sequencing.
  • Solve field challenges calmly and decisively.
  • Execute tight reveals and precision miters.
  • Complete complex crown transitions, paneling, and coffered ceilings.
  • Understand symmetry, sightlines, and architectural intent.
  • Make clean field adjustments when required.
  • Lay out kitchens and built-ins accurately and efficiently.
  • Anticipate appliance integration and alignment challenges.
  • Maintain consistent reveals across full elevations.
  • Install inset and custom cabinetry with confidence.
  • Confirm flatness and proper prep before tile installation.
  • Understand waterproofing and substrate standards.
  • Identify layout or prep issues early to prevent rework.
