About The Position

The Career Center Lead supports daily operations by providing workforce services, determining program eligibility, maintaining accurate customer records, delivering technical assistance to staff, and ensuring compliance with workforce policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of workforce development, economic development, business intelligence and trends, and project management.
  • Knowledge of effective management techniques and practices to include planning, strategy development and implementation, assessment of outcomes and accountability.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, technology, and computer skills.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Can effectively handle or resolve challenging situations and difficult customers. Is sensitive to customer needs and feelings and demonstrates concern for others.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, organizational skill, and detail oriented.
  • Able to multi-task and learn different systems/platforms, and diverse programs and services offered to customers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and interpret federal and state program eligibility guidelines and requirement, and to consistently apply policies and procedures.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, Board staff, and the public.
  • Ability to develop strategies and solutions.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance with good driving record.
  • Ability to relocate within the service delivery area.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Undergraduate degree in a relevant field of study and (2) years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs essential workforce services and functions to assist individuals participating in workforce programs. To include intake appointments, collecting, analyzing, researching and determining program requirements and customer eligibility.
  • Observes, receives and obtains relevant customer information for data entry and prepares customer files. Review and explain program requirements, application processes, and eligibility criteria; respond to customer questions and concerns.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and staff to resolve complex eligibility issues, provide technical assistance and training, support recruitment efforts, and perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
