Requirements

3+ years of professional CAD drafting experience
1+ year of leadership experience
Create and interpret detailed technical drawings
Advanced Autodesk experience preferred, including Inventor and Fusion
Identify design issues and develop workable solutions that support efficient metal fabrication
Manage multiple projects, establish priorities, and keep design work moving on schedule
Work effectively with the CAD team, production employees, leadership, and customers while reflecting Metalum's values of humility, hard work, respect, and service.

Nice To Haves

Autodesk, Inventor, and Fusion experience preferred
Leadership experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Create detailed, production-ready CAD drawings and designs for metal fabrication projects.
Produce accurate drawings using Autodesk software, including Inventor and Fusion.
Review drawings for dimensions, materials, accuracy, and manufacturability before they reach production.
Lead the CAD team day to day, providing technical direction and helping prioritize projects to keep work on schedule.
Troubleshoot design challenges and revise drawings to develop practical solutions for fabrication.
Collaborate with production and company leadership to clarify project requirements and ensure designs translate effectively to the shop floor.
Establish consistent CAD standards and processes that support accurate, efficient design work.
Communicate with customers as needed to clarify project details and design requirements.
