About The Position

We are hiring a Lead CAD Designer to support our steel packaged pool product line. This role is based in the Albany, New York area and will design packages from concept through production-ready drawings. You will be the primary design resource for steel wall systems, structural details, liner interfaces, deck and coping connections, equipment pads, and complete packaged-pool kits. The work sits at the intersection of product design, manufacturing, and dealer installation.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in CAD, drafting, mechanical design, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of professional CAD experience; lead or senior-level work preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks and/or Autodesk Inventor, plus AutoCAD.
  • Experience designing sheet metal / formed steel or similar fabricated products.
  • Ability to produce complete drawing packages: assemblies, details, BOMs, and revision history.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes: laser/plasma cutting, forming, welding, powder coat or galvanizing, and hardware assembly.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with plants, vendors, and field teams.
  • Must be able to work on-site in the Albany, New York area.

Responsibilities

  • Lead 2D and 3D CAD development for steel-sided packaged pool models, options, and standard configurations.
  • Create production drawings, assemblies, cut lists, bills of material, and installation details.
  • Design steel wall panels, rails, braces, and hardware for strength, fit-up, and field assembly.
  • Coordinate liner, coping, deck, plumbing, and equipment layouts so kits ship complete.
  • Work with manufacturing and purchasing gauges, coatings, hardware, and vendor components.
  • Support engineering changes, new model introductions, and updates from plant and field feedback.
  • Set CAD standards and mentor additional drafters as the product line grows.
