About The Position

This role supports a multi-year transformational project at Amtrak, as well as normal department operations. Because the position is tied to project work, continuation of employment after the project is completed will depend on business needs at that time. The analyst produces business intelligence and exception-reporting solutions and assists with data cleansing and integration projects. The role researches, develops, and delivers innovative solutions to functional processes or system issues to drive business improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or relevant experience.
• At least 6 years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of multifunctional business processes and support.
• Ability to analyze data and report findings to appropriate levels of management.
• Proficiency with PC-based applications such as Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word.
• Detail-oriented, self-confident, enthusiastic, and highly motivated team player with a positive attitude.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to succeed under deliverable time commitments.
• Proficiency in general business, procurement and logistics, financial, and analytical acumen.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Competence in data mining and systems implementations.
• Ability to communicate, comprehend, and respond to verbal and written statements and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop data analytics to support business and management reports.
• Construct queries and reports for automated analysis and topic identification using data from SAP and Ariba systems.
• Integrate multiple data sources for reporting.
• Engage business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand process requirements, analyze and document user needs, and perform gap analysis.
• Work with business stakeholders to identify key metrics and capture the business logic needed to transform raw data into actionable work streams.
