About The Position

As a Lead Business Analyst within the Platform Strategy & Solutions team at Canada Life, you will play a critical role in analyzing business needs, defining requirements, authoring, grooming and refining user stories for our platform products. You will work closely with stakeholders, technology teams and crossfunctional partners to ensure business objectives are met efficiently and effectively. In this role, you must be comfortable working in an ambiguous and evolving environment, proactively identifying opportunities and bringing structure to complex challenges.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis, product requirements definition, technology platform implementation or related roles.
  • Strong expertise in requirements gathering, business process modeling, and stakeholder management
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments, working with incomplete information to drive clarity and actionable next steps.
  • Proficiency in business analysis tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in agile environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in financial services, insurance or investments is an asset.
  • Experience in rules harvesting, rules authoring, decision automation, business rules management systems, and rules-based decisioning frameworks is an asset.
  • Financial services, insurance business or investments knowledge is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the gathering, analysis, and documentation of business requirements with a focus on platform solutions and capabilities.
  • Author user stories and work with Technical Developers to groom, refine and prioritize into logical components based on estimates and time available.
  • Define and document BRD’s/PRD’s, functional specifications and collaborate with technology and business stakeholders for non-functional specifications and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with business and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of platform technology solutions including, but not limited to Contact Centres (AWS Connect, Salesforce), Knowledge and Content Management (CP4BA), Decision Automation and Document Composition
  • Evaluate existing processes and recommend enhancements, optimizations, and new automation opportunities.
  • Conduct impact assessments & risk analysis for new automation opportunities.
  • Support governance, compliance, and audit requirements for intake and workflow.
  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies, lead user acceptance testing and business exploration of new solutions, support change acceptance, and support training & change management.
  • Facilitate both remote and in-person working sessions with key stakeholders.
  • Lead your work independently, creating project plans for your activities, communicating and meeting due dates.
  • Collaborate and provide guidance to other Business Analysts and other peers.
