About The Position

The Engineering Enablement team, part of Technology Design & Integration (TechDI), plays a crucial role in Thomson Reuters’ transformation into an operating and content-driven technology company. TechDI enhances strategic decision-making, prioritization, and business design across the enterprise by employing industry-standard frameworks, methods, and tools to foster alignment and improve both customer and colleague experiences. Within TechDI, Engineering Enablement acts as a bridge between high-level business intent and execution-ready technical solutions for complex, cross-system initiatives. The team ensures early alignment, decision clarity, and execution readiness by translating business needs into structured detailed requirements, technical designs, and traceable delivery artifacts. As a Lead Business Analyst, you will be instrumental in a significant strategic program aimed at modernizing and aligning our technology stack. This role centers on understanding, validating, and driving alignment and standardization across Finance and Reporting-related business requirements, ensuring consistency, traceability, and readiness for downstream delivery. You will collaborate closely with Finance, Product, Engineering, Architecture, and Program teams to clarify intricate requirements, resolve cross-system dependencies, and foster a shared understanding among stakeholders. Serving as a trusted thought partner, you will contribute to shaping scalable, standardized approaches for business requirements, reporting definitions, and design decisions that can be applied across various initiatives and portfolios.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; an advanced degree is considered an asset.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in business analysis, technical/functional analysis, or related roles within complex, technology-enabled environments.
  • Proven ability to lead highly complex, cross-functional initiatives involving Finance, Technology, and Data domains.
  • Strong understanding of business architecture and business analysis concepts, including process modelling, requirements decomposition, decision traceability, and operating model considerations.
  • Demonstrated experience working across multiple systems and platforms, with the ability to reason about end-to-end impacts and dependencies.
  • Excellent facilitation and stakeholder-management skills, with confidence influencing senior leaders and navigating ambiguity.
  • Highly structured and analytical, with the ability to synthesise complex information into clear insights and actionable outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce concise, executive-level documentation and presentations.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment while driving standards, consistency, and quality.
  • Confident in facilitating workshops with diverse groups of stakeholders.
  • Collaborative and team-focused, with a willingness to take initiative.
  • Energetic, with drive, enthusiasm, and natural skills in relationship development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the analysis, validation, and standardization of complex business requirements, with a strong focus on Finance, Reporting, and cross-system data dependencies.
  • Translate high-level business scenarios and policies into clear, structured, and traceable functional and technical requirements that are ready for execution.
  • Drive alignment across Finance, Product, Architecture, Engineering, and Delivery teams by facilitating working sessions, decision forums, and design reviews.
  • Own and maintain key design and requirements artifacts, including business scenarios, service blueprints, traceability matrices, and feature-product mapping.
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and variances across requirements, systems, and reporting models, and proactively drive resolution and standardization.
  • Support adoption of standard frameworks, taxonomies, and tooling (e.g., ADO structures, traceability models) to improve delivery consistency and reporting transparency.
  • Provide thought leadership on business analysis and business architecture concepts, ensuring designs align to enterprise principles while remaining pragmatic and delivery-focused.
  • Partner closely with Delivery and Program leads to ensure requirements and decisions support stage-gate readiness, sequencing, and risk mitigation.
  • Communicate complex concepts clearly through executive-ready materials, summaries, and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
